Whos the man...? ...Jesus!

Where do we begin?
It’s been an amazing first month in the land we call down under. We have been challenged in every aspect there is by God; however, in every aspect he has revealed and taught us in so many different levels. Hillsong has been a tool that definitely made a difference in our lives. In Acts 1:7 God says, “ It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses.” For Bo and I trusting Gods timetable has definitely been the biggest challenge for us thus far. We have and still remain to be challenged financially, but God has been providing piece by piece, to keep us where he wants us. I think for me this verse is definitely challenging me to not lean on my own understand but Gods Understanding. In other words, allow Gods plan to be the direction I should take my life. At Hillsong we had a speaker talking about how life is not always comfortable. People get upset with God when they are put into an uncomfortable situation; however, this creates one of the best opportunities to grow spiritually. So for Bo and I God has been challenging us in every aspect and has opened and closed a number of doors in our life. For me I have learned that when we hear God speak its not that we have just heard him, but it is that we have listened to him. God is always speaking to us, the real task is to listen to him and be directed by his calling. As for what we have been doing on this trip recreationally; Bo got his surfboard and has been out a few times catching as many waves as he can. You can tell who’s from a cold climate in Australia. Last week Bo was the only one in the water without a wetsuit. Everyone looked at him like he was from space. I just got back from the Blue Mountains with my friend Marty and Ben, two amazing Christian guys. Climbing 20 km out in the mountains just opened my eyes to the wonders of Gods creation, and how big God really is. Bo and I have also made a number of new friends from all areas of the world, and they have been a blessing. Our friend Nick has been a super amazing guy, taking us to our favourite, or in his American dictionary (favorite) restaurant Mad Mex. It is by far best Mexican food in all of Sydney. He has truly been a brother to us through Christ and has been placed by God to not only help us spiritually but to be an amazing friend. The list goes on and on of people who have come into our lives and made a difference. Our new roommate Milan from Denmark has also been an amazing blessing to us. From a friend, to a brother in Christ he is yet another amazing person. I could go on forever of different people that have been a blessing to us, however you would be a sleep by the time I finished, so I decided to just give you two. As for all our blog followers we love you too and are praying for you every day.
Sincerely Brendon

Its the final countdown (du na na na)

This is unbelievable how fast this has come! I remember being at Kaléo with 3 months left counting down the days until i was home. Now, that time has past. Last night I sent Brendon off to Hawaii to enjoy some time in Honolulu before i join him for this adventure in 9 days. For a night at the Sheraton resort in Honolulu, then we are off to Sydney, Australia for the day we have waited for for who knows how long. I remember being in grade 9 and brendon had this crazy idea of moving to Australia. I would always shake my had saying "ya dude lets do it!" but thinking "haha ya right." Not that i did not want to do it, but because i was so use to having a normal life. Well here we are just about to embark on this life time adventure, that God has given to us.
Who knows what God has in store for us, that is all a part of the adventure, listening and following. Right now we have a heart for young people and surfing, were hoping to get involved or even start up a surf ministry. And as a life goal we want to make Christianity attractive through doing stuff to the best of our abilities and not settling for any lower like so many Christians do. God is so interesting and sometimes we do not make look so appealing, as John Piper says "The Bible is not boring, Avatar is!" be praying that God would be directing us and our eyes would become set on him.
thanks for reading! would love to hear from you!
